Vacay Afterbluez

After a grandiose, glorious and whatever g word I can think of to describe last months’ vacation (Landmarks: St. Croix aka The Virgen Islands, St. Maarten, St. John’s in Antigua, St. Lucia and last but not least Barbados), reality hit me square between the eyes upon my arrival back home. A near record setting rainfall/flood breezed through my basement to my amazement two weeks ago (*Jaw dropping shock when I first witnessed my boxes floating around*), but by midnight all the water receded and after some boxes tossed, an extinguished water heater added to the unexpected other expenses & bills that I wasn’t happy to take care of and the floor needing to be mopped, things weren’t as bad as my neighbors or as bad as the Dearborn residents caught it. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows from one month to the next – Ahh, the perils of life.

Ecstatic art update: One of my artists has begun working on my project so onward to its completion and the end of the summer. I just can’t help thinking about getting my work into the 555 arts gallery before the end of the year though. That internal drive is hard to turn off.

Bottom line I feel very blessed every time I go on vacation to have a different collection of friends, loved ones and new associates to make the experience more well-rounded than anticipated. I’m always willing to try new experiences with each group to test my boundaries so if I come back with new stories to share or display a different energy don’t mind me: I needed a break from the norm.

A setback is a setup for a comeback,
Aquil H. Rowe
