Mid Year Checkpoints (What popped & what flopped?)

Hey Internet Land!

*It’s that time of year to take a step back and take a mini inventory of what’s taken place so far this year:

+ What popped: New better paying gig which explains my tardiness with this month’s entry. No worries – Better late than never plus I’m feigning for my first official check.

What flopped: Not one, but two rejections from small business grants. Disappointed but never swayed. I’ll see those stingy bastards again.

+ What popped: Completed my routinely talked about poem for my catalog late last month (Whoo Hooo!!!!!!)

What flopped: Less artist recruiting due to inconsistent funds. Sucky, quite frankly.

Stay tuned for an update come December.

*Back once again at the Detroit Public Library is the Java & Jazz Series: On Tuesday, July the 21st from 5:45 to 8:45PM percussionist Obed Succari will be performing his Latin based, Motown inspired stylings. Encourage a friend and then bring another friend to roll together as one.

*Man Law #37: Never count another man’s pocket. Sometimes when a man young and he’s down to his last dollar one will reach out for help, however as men get older every man must make the decision and plan to become their own financial stronghold, so unless a relationship with a friend is good beyond question with favors done for each other over the years to possibly exercise some goodwill, worrying about or trying to question how much loot another dude possesses at a certain point in a man’s life is a humongous violation. Put that on pause and work on your own economical deliverance.

*A subtle tip of the cap and salute to my Brothers & Sisters in the Islamic faith that’s started at the beginning of Ramadan and has remained strong up to this point for continued blessings and encouragement throughout the holy month.

*Quote of the Month: Condemnation without investigation is the highest form of ignorance ~ Albert Einstein

*My Last Thing: Stay tuned next month for my outstanding interview with artist Ernest Camel, who I believe will be celebrating a birthday in July so maybe this can add to his great yearly occasion.

Keep grinding until you either break skin or unearth a diamond,
